The inspector will not provide any compensation, inducement, or reward directly or indrectly, to any person or entity other than a client, for the referral of business to the inspector. (The purchase and/or use of advertising or marketing services or products are not considered compensation, inducement, or reward.)
The inspector will not consduct a home inspection or prepare a home inspection report for which the inspector's fee is contingent upon the conclusions in the report.
The inspector will not disclose any information concerning the results of the inspection without the approval of the client for whom the inspection was performed, unless compelled by court order
Home inspectors, while providing professional services, or in their employment practices, shall not discriminate against any person on the basis of age, race, color, religion, sex, handicap, family status, national origin or any other status protected by law
The inspector shall make every effort to uphold, maintain and improve the professioanl practice, integrity, and reputation of NAHI. The inspector will report violations of this Code by other members, and any other relevant information to NAHI for possible remedial action
While this Code of Ethics establishes obligations that may be higher than those mandated by law, in any instance where the Code of Ethics and the law conflict, the obligations of the law must take precedence
