    Recent changes have been adopted to the Virginia Residential Property Disclosure Act. The Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 2011 which goes into effect January of 2008. This bill encourages purchasers to exercise due diligence and suggests obtaining a certified home inspection.

     According to the State of Virginia, a home inspector can only  be considered certified if he/she is certified with the Commonwealth of Virginia. Certification with other organizations is not considered a valid certifaction in the state of Virginia.
